This weekend - and the story behind it

So, about 4.5 years ago our washing machine started making weird noises during the spin cycle.   Also, an acquaintance was moving at the time and needed to get rid of her 'perfectly good' washing machine so we took it (for free) since ours was obviously on it's last leg(s).

We moved it into the living room so it would be easy to move into the laundry room.   After 3 years we moved it to a spare bedroom so our living room didn't look like....  a laundry room?

After 1.5 more years our washing machine finally died.   It still performed a spin cycle but not without scarring the floor and making a really ugly 'whirring/grinding' noise.

We finally had enough and moved the 'spare' washing machine out of the bedroom into the hallway -

 Moved the old washer out of it's spot in the laundry room and into the alley-

And moved our 'brand new to us' washing machine into the laundry room.  It has been there for 3 hours and I have washed 3 loads of laundry.   It's wonderful!
